Barcode Scanner Set up
Any barcode scanner you have should work with your Workstand POS
Connection via USB
- Connect the scanner's USB cable to an available USB port on your computer. The scanner should power on automatically.
- if a pop-up appears, choose "Allow"
Test Scan
- Navigate to Sales > New sale OR Inventory > Purchase orders > Create purchase order.
- Click in the Search and add product box.

- Scan a barcode. The number should appear in the search box.
- If not, confirm the scanner is plugged in correctly.
Connection via Bluetooth
- Mac
- Open System Settings > Bluetooth
- Press and hold the barcode scanner's button/trigger for 8 seconds, until the scanner beeps. This indicates that the scanner is in pairing mode
- Note: If the scanner does not enter pairing mode it may need to be restored to factory settings. This can be done by scanning the Restore Factory Settings barcode in the manual.
- Find the scanner in the Nearby Devices box and click Connect
- Confirm that the scanner appears under My Devices
- PC
- Open System Settings > Bluetooth & Devices.
- Confirm Bluetooth is enabled and choose Add device.
- Press and hold the barcode scanner's button/trigger for 8 seconds, until the scanner beeps. This indicates that the scanner is in pairing mode
- Select the scanner when it appears in the list.
- For many scanners a number of parameters can be adjusted by scanning specific configuration barcodes from the manual or the brand's website. These include settings such as:
- Whether the scanner beeps when a barcode is scanned
- Whether the scanner vibrates when a barcode is scanned
- What Bluetooth protocol is used
- How long the scanner stays in standby mode
