Custom Payment Methods
Accept gift cards or other online custom payment, as well as in-store store payment methods.
While we do not yet directly integrate with any gift card services, we do give you the ability to still collect those payments, or other forms of payment, such as financing cards, through your website via custom payment methods.
Website Custom Payment Method
- This feature allows an online sale to be completed using a payment method that is not integrated into our platform.

- For example, you can add a custom website payment type of "Gift card".
- To set up a website payment method navigate to Settings > Commerce > Payment Settings > "Add Another Payment Type".

- Select "Custom payment type", enter the Custom Payment Type name, select "Available on website only", and then click "Add Payment Type".
- The final step is to toggle on that payment method under Custom payment types.

- Once the payment method is toggled on, it will be available as a selectable payment method during checkout on your website.
- Please keep in mind that payment is not collected at the time the online sale is submitted, so you will have to contact your customer to arrange payment.
The system will not ask your customer for any other information so be sure to provide any special instructions in your Shopping Cart Message.
In-Store Custom Payment Method
- In-store custom payment methods are for any payment you accept in store (also called "offline payment" in Sales (Classic)).
- This feature allows you to collect payment for an online or in-store sale using a payment method that is not integrated into our platform and is also not available to a customer during checkout from your website.

- For example, you could create a custom payment type of "Check", or a financing program that is only available in your store.

- To set up an in-store payment method navigate to Settings > Commerce > Payment Settings > "Add Another Payment Type".
- Select "Custom payment type", enter the Custom Payment Type name, select "Available in-store only", and then click "Add Payment Type".
- The last step is to toggle on that payment method under Custom Payment Types.

- Once the payment method is toggled on it will become available as a payment method to select when collecting payment in a sale in Sales Hub.
Data Security
- Under no circumstances should you collect sensitive information, such as credit card numbers, through custom payment methods.
- It is a massive data risk to have customers input credit card (or even gift card) information into the comments section in an order.
- Direct your customers to call the store with a gift card or other payment information.
